Brookside Cottage Farms is located in the heart of the urban sprawl that is Oakland, California. Our operation started back in 2007 with 8 day old chicks and a small 8ft. by 8ft. garden. Since the beginning we’ve grown quite considerably and are at a point now where we hope to help others get their start living a more sustainable lifestyle in the city. Farming isn’t only for those who live “in the country” any more!
Our goal is to promote self sustainability through bio-intensive organic farming and permaculture while building community in the flatlands of East Oakland.
